Youth Intensive Services (YIS) is a dual-diagnosis treatment facility. We treat those struggling with a mental disorder and an addiction.
Addictions to prescription medications, illegal drugs or alcohol can affect people’s mental health. Those suffering from schizophrenia, depression, PTSD, anxiety disorders or personality disorders are more likely to use and abuse drugs and alcohol. Some users might start abusing drugs or alcohol because the substance reduces their symptoms, while others suffer from mental problems because of their substance use.
Youth Intensive Services (YIS) recently opened its female adolescent substance abuse non-medical community residential facility.
Adolescents presenting with chemical dependency, psychiatric and co-occurring diagnoses are capable of receiving both substance abuse and mental health services.
The therapeutic environment is trauma-focused and includes individual, group, and family therapy, on-site accredited educational services (Mahoning County Educational Service Center), psychiatric and nursing services and milieu therapy utilizing a phase system, Applied Behavior Analysis Treatment, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
Ohio MHAS mandates that each resident receives at least 20 hours of treatment services weekly. The treatment services will include a combination of educational services, case management, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.
